2017 Storm Haven Vineyard 'White Label' Pinot Noir $28 - ($24.35 Wine Club Price)

Every year we will look hard at our selection of Pinot Noir barrels to determine the best wine or wines that we can. Only the most exceptional barrels will make it into a black label bottling and only in years where we feel the quality justifies it. In 2017, with the addition of fruit from our younger 2014 plantings, we chose to keep the entire lot as a white label bottling. The younger vines brought a youthful exuberance to this wine that is lovely to drink now. 100% whole cluster fermented and aged in 50% new oak barrels for 10 months, the new oak helps to integrate stem tannins and bring a generous but silky, viscous texture to the wine.
Containing fruit from both older and younger plantings on the property there is a vibrancy that carries the structure of the whole cluster fermentation in a very pretty way. Earthy root vegetable, bright raspberry and strawberry are carried on a lengthy finish with body that contradicts the low alcohol inherent at Storm Haven.
